- Can you post a rifle or shotgun to my home?
- No. Certificate-controlled items - rifles, shotguns, their ammunition and air weapons - are never sent by courier to an individual. You can reserve online and then collect in person at our shop, or we can transfer the item to another registered firearms dealer near you for collection there.
- What certificate details do I need to reserve a firearm?
- For a rifle or Section 1 ammunition you need a valid Firearm Certificate (FAC); for a shotgun or shotgun cartridges you need a Shotgun Certificate (SGC). When you reserve, you enter the certificate type, number, expiry date, issuing force and the name as printed, and confirm you hold valid authority for the purchase. Staff verify these details, and we always check the physical certificate again at handover.
- Do I pay the full price online?
- For certificate-controlled items you can choose to pay a deposit (a set percentage of the price, rounded up to the nearest pound) or the full amount. Any balance is settled when you collect. Deliverable accessories are paid for in full at checkout.
- How does an RFD transfer work?
- If you would rather collect closer to home, choose 'Transfer to another dealer' at checkout and give us the destination dealer's name, address and RFD number. A transfer fee applies. We send the item dealer-to-dealer, and you collect from them in person with your certificate and photo ID.
- What do I need to bring when I collect?
- Bring the physical certificate that authorises the purchase and a form of photo identification. We check the certificate against your reservation before completing the sale - this check is a legal requirement and is never skipped.
- Is ammunition available for delivery?
- No. In the interest of caution, all ammunition is collection only. You can reserve it online against the relevant certificate and collect it in store, where your certificate is shown and recorded.
- Can I buy an air rifle online?
- You can reserve an air rifle online if you are 18 or over, but like other controlled items it cannot be posted to you. Collect it in store or have it transferred to your local dealer.
- Can I return an accessory?
- Unused accessories in their original condition can be returned within the window set out in our Returns policy. Certificate-controlled items and ammunition cannot be returned once transferred, for safety and legal reasons. See the Returns page for full details.
- How is my certificate information protected?
- Certificate numbers are encrypted at rest, and only shown to staff through an audited 'reveal' step when they need to verify your order. We keep certificate records only for as long as needed and delete them in line with our privacy policy.
- How does club membership work?
- Membership starts with an application and, once approved, a probationary period. During probation you attend supervised range sessions and complete a short checklist including an in-person identity check. When the checklist is complete you are promoted to full membership. Annual fees apply and can be paid online or at the counter.
- Why do I need an account to apply to the club?
- The application is linked to your account so we can prefill your details, link any certificates you hold, and keep your application and membership records together. A verified email and a phone number are required to submit.
- Do you take card payments online?
- Online payment is currently by bank transfer, with the balance payable in store. We are arranging a specialist card facility suitable for our trade; when it is live you will be able to pay by card as well.
